Founder & Executive Director
Erica Solis, started this organization because of her personal experience with spectrum disorders, ADHD, anxiety & depression. Her family has been warriors to some of these conditions and she herself has battled anxiety & depression since she was a child, amongst other health and lifestyle challenges. In her own words,
“My family and I have overcome significant trials and challenges that impact development and mental health. Through my journey, I want to do my part in helping others just overcome and reach their highest potential.”
In 2018, Poppy Life Care (PLC) was formed out of Erica's passion for helping families living with spectrum disorders and mental health challenges that stem from her own childhood and family experiences. This family faced different levels of spectrum disorders alongside anxiety & depression. Discouraged by the lack of information, resources, mental and emotional support available, the founder was determined to help.
Poppy Life Care Foundation serves children and families living with these daily challenges and supports not only awareness but therapies and education, reducing the dependencies on prescription drugs, stigmas and empowering these families through several interdisciplinary programs.
Through research and intuitive healing, Poppy Life Care was born. With the purpose of ensuring families and children had access to holistic practices such as yoga, music therapy, behavioral therapy, nutritional education and more, ultimately weaving them together to create interdisciplinary programs that support the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual components of a person and a family.
In just 1-year, Poppy Life Care has grown to over 50 volunteers serving over 3,000 families in its first year by providing support groups, resource referrals, summer camps, workshops and yoga classes. In addition, Poppy Life Care has partnered with several local non-profits and for-profits from Mothers Market, Moms Across America, IEP CA and more. Currently Poppy Life Care is partnered with Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, offering free yoga classes to families living with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety & Depression.
Poppy Life Care’s mission is simple – to provide multidisciplinary services and resources that help children with special needs or who are “at risk” and their families to reach their full potential.
Erica has been recognized by several startup platforms such as OctaneOC, top 150 finalists in North America by Red Herring and was featured in the Orange County Business Journal for her accomplishments as an "Emerging Entrepreneur".
